Illinois Cell Phone Lemon Law Update

The state of Illinois is currently considering a “cellphone lemon law” that would allow you to get out of your contract if your phone has been replaced or repaired three times. The bill has passed the state House and is headed to the Senate.

Proponents of the bill see this as an increased consumer protection initiative. The mobile phone industry thinks that this legislation is unnecessary.

What do you think?

I think is cell phone lemon law is a great idea. I currently brought the T-Mobile in June 2007. I had exchange my phone 4 time. They refuse to let me out my contract. And when came them giving me a new phone they try to downgrade without giving me the difference. I pay almost $500 for my phone and try to give me phone that cost $200.
