New Apple iPods: iPod Touch, iPod Classic, New Nano and Amazing Price on iPhones

Time to Buy a New Apple iPod? (or maybe now’s the time for that iPhone)

If you’ve been thinking about a new iPod or lusting after the Apple iPhone, it might be a good thing you waited. Yesterday, Apple announced several new and exciting additions to the iPod family.

The iPod Touch is the iPhone without the phone (and without an AT&T contract). Featuring a 3.5 inch multi-touch screen, it offers 22 hours of audio playback and 5 hours of video. It is also Wifi capable which will excite many iPod users. You can actually buy music from the iTunes Music Store directly on the iPod.

The iPod Classic (new name) got revamped and repriced. The original price for the 80GB model got reduced $100 to a more affordable $249. For the serious music lover there is a new 160GB model which will hold up to 40,000 tunes. Man!

The iPod Nano changed its screen size to 2.0 inches with a price tag of $149 for 4 GB and $199 for 8GB. The new Nano ships complete with three games and comes in 5 colors including a special edition (PRODUCT) RED, for which a portion of the purchase price goes to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.

The iPhone will have a software update to introduce new capabilities. Apple is always full of surprises and even after the numbers came out that showed the iPhone to be the number one-selling Smartphone from any manufacturer, it got a price reduction yesterday. The 8GB Apple iPhone was reduced $200 from $599 to a more-affordable $399. (Personally, I think it’s a STEAL for the top-selling Smartphone!)
