Weekly Cell Phone Jargon Update Week 3

Week 3: There are 2 main standards for Cell Phone Networks. GSM technology - Short for Global System for Mobile Communications, GSM is the most widespread standard for cell phones networks in the world. Domestically, AT&T / Cingular and T-Mobile are the best known. The main distinction of a GSM phone is that it comes with a SIM card. The other standard is CDMA: Short for Code Division Multiple Access, CDMA networks are much more prevalent in the U.S. than they are abroad.
